Bloom Energy has designed a green fuel cell that produces clean electricity for almost any residential or commercial application including refueling your car! The Bloom Box or “Bloom Energy Server” is unique in that it costs a lot less to manufacture than it’s typical green fuel cell counterparts making it ideal for mass production and implementation. Basically, the Bloom Box uses inexpensive metal plates (almost all fuel cells use platinum which is expensive to produce), sand with a combination of oxygen and natural gas, biogas or solar energy. The Bloom Energy Server are going public with their green fuel technology after years of secrecy and have already installed large scale green fuel cells for companies such as Google, eBay, and Walmart who also took advantage of the Federal Tax Credits due to expire in December, 31st 2010.
